The most comprehensive cancer information service available in the UK is provided by Cancerbackup. They recently merged with Macmillan Cancer support but are still providing their helpline staffed by trained specialist nurses and comprehensive information leaflets.

In addition to the website, Cancerbackup provides a helpline, staffed by specialist cancer information nurses who can give advice on any issue relating to cancer. You can also order information leaflets which will be sent to you free of charge.

Web: www.cancerhelp.org.uk is another excellent organisation. This website is provided by Cancer Research UK. In addition to the website they also offer a telephone helpline staffed by trained nurses.
Cancer Words Explained
You will find that cancer, like most branches of medicine, uses many words and phrases that you might find difficult to understand. The glossary page on the Cancer Research UK website will explain them all.
